It's days like these.. Moments like these.. I miss the open road.. Where I would just keep driving.. Into places unknown.. Through the mountains.. Breathing in the smell of pine trees ... And letting my thoughts fly with the wind streaming through the car.. Until my headlights get lost in the dark.. Until my mind is consumed by the night.. And the cold air freezes my blood and numbs my body... And for that instance ... I feel nothing.. And all the walls have crumbled down.. And the static has silenced.. Then I would pull over.. Walk to the edge and feel the presence of freedom one step in front of me.. Eyes closed.. Completely numb.. My heart
